We thought it would be a fun and illuminating exercise to list many of the verses in the Bible that God says something about Who and What He is – and what He does and doesn’t do. Also, all verses will be ESV unless another version has a better sense of meaning, in which case other versions will be included and noted. Some verses may have notes to enhance the meaning (translation, cultural or historical references).
This is very obviously a work in progress and we will go book by book in order so we don’t duplicate ourselves. You are welcome to add your ideas in the comments and they will be incorporated if we think they are consistent.

O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it. Where shall I go from your Spirit?
